Ways To Get Pregnant?

When I decided to try to get pregnant, I spent many months researching ways to get pregnant so that I could maximize my chances of conceiving quickly. I sorted through an overwhelming amount of information both online and offline and will be sharing what I learned here.

I’d like to start off with some basic information, because so many women have spent so much time trying to avoid pregnancy, they haven’t had the opportunity to learn some of the fundamentals necessary to ensure pregnancy.

Ways To Get Pregnant: Ovulation

The number one most critical issue is ovulation. If you aren’t ovulating or don’t know when you are ovulating, it is basically a crapshoot each month and while you may eventually get pregnant, it will take a lot longer than if you spend some time getting to know your body.

You may have heard that women ovulate on the 14th day of the month. This is a ridiculous statement made by many so-called experts. It’s true, some women with perfect 28 day cycles do ovulate right in the middle, but for many, many women this is not the case. Ovulation can vary greatly from woman to woman and even in the same woman from month to month, so it’s critical that you know approximately when you ovulate in order to time intercourse correctly.

Ways To Get Pregnant: BBT Charting

The absolute best way to become familiar with your cycle and learn when and if you are ovulating, is to do BBT charting. Some women are confused about this method, but it really is very simple and actually quite rewarding once you get the hang of it.

You simply purchase a Basal Body Thermometer (which are readily available) and begin by taking your temperature every morning, the moment you wake up. That is, as soon as you open your eyes, you should reach for your thermometer (which has hopefully been left on the nightstand) and pop it into your mouth without moving around at all. That means you should NOT get out of bed first to use the “potty.” Or have a conversation with your partner. Or toss and turn to get comfortable. Put in the thermometer and take your temperature before doing anything! Once you’ve done that, record the number in the little graph that you’ll get with the thermometer purchase – or download copies here: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/bbt/bbt.html

That’s it!! Record the temperatures throughout your monthly cycle and you should start to notice some stuff. Basically your temperatures will shift up about a few tenths of a degree up to one degree right after you ovulate. This noticeable shift in temperatures will tell you that you have indeed ovulated and the temps will stay up until your period arrives whereupon they will noticeably shift back down again.

If you chart your cycle for a few months, you will begin to see a regular pattern which will give you very valuable information if you’re looking for ways to get pregnant. Because once you know approximately what time of month you ovulate, you will be better able to time intercourse during your “fertile window” which starts several days before the actual day of ovulation. This is the best way to maximize your chances of conception.
